To Be a Protector...

I have a strong protective instinct toward the people I love, and I can get easily riled up when it comes to protecting my family.  That's easy to understand.  But what about when "protecting my family" means shielding them from other parts of my family?  That isn't easy at all.

These days...

These days, I am Not Into Blogging.

Not that I don't want to be--I do.  But when I write, I need peace and lots of quiet, and quiet is hard to come by in the Mamula house these days!  (For example, this very moment, Greg is out running errands and Sophie is at a friend's house, but Wee Little Joely-One is squirming on my lap, crying to beat the band, for NO APPARENT REASON.  C'est la vie!)

Ah.  He's calm again, sort of pretending to sleep.  Thus I continue my thought...

So.  Yes.  Not much opportunity for quiet, organized reflection lately.  There has, however, been lots of time for creativity in other areas.  Most notably, I have been working on cutting out quilt squares (made from a million pairs of Greg's old boxers, because the plaid patterns are so pretty that in 8 years, I have never thrown out a pair yet).  And also I have been working on some dress-up costumes for my little princess; hopefully, photos will follow soon!

I have also been somewhat creative in the kitchen.  Or if not creative, then at least busy.  Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Muffins made with Amish bread starter?  Yes, please!  And lots of grilled veggies and some super homemade pizza... Oh, and my new favorite casserole-type-thing: hello, Strata!

This weekend I mixed up a batch of homemade laundry detergent, and so far, it has cleaned our clothes just fine.  I am excited about that because it is super-duper cheap, and also because the soap I used in it smells fantastic.

Also, the Cloth Diapering Adventure continues.
And the children are growing.
And I started going to Zumba class!
And time keeps moving.
And I am just trying to make the most of every single moment!
